Swindale Explorer

Summertime in Swindale. This gentle exploration will take in native trees, wild lower meadows, hopefully an array of birds and butterflies, as we meander like the river through this restored landscape. As the crags soar above us we will wander beneath them. This will very much be a learning and journeying day, rather than a mountain day.

The peaceful valley of Swindale feels like a complete escape from what can be the hussle and bussle of other valleys. The restoration work done in the valley by the RSPB sits side by side with its farming activities in this living landscape alive with wildlife.

Level 1 suitable for all- 9km, 160m ascent, some potentially stoney or wet paths
