Bow Fell & Esk Pike

Giants above Langdale. We will start by making our way up The Band, a prominent spur separating the upper valleys of Langdale. Bow Fell summit is a jumble of boulders and we can marvel at how they came to be there, and how we might get to the top!

Once we have gained our first Wainwright of the day, it’s not too much down and then up again to the second, Esk Pike which has a real sense of being in the heart of the Lake District with mountains all around. We will of course take time to see how many we can name! After negotiating the multiple paths meeting at Esk Hause we will begin our return to Langdale via the splendid Angle Tarn.

Wainwright count 2
