St Sunday Crag

A wonderful broad ridge walk, with all the advantages of a ridge (views to all sides) with non of the steep drops of the more severe ridges of the Lake District, though hopefully we will be able to look across the valley to these.

Taking in Birks and St Sunday Crag this walk combines a wonderful airy ridge walk, a sparking upland tarn (Grisedale) and a classic Lakeland valley journey taking in a section of Wainwright’s Coast to Coast walk as well as a little bit of Wordsworth history too.

Wainwright count 2 (maybe 3)

Level 2; some walking experience needed (not necessarily mountain walking).

Approx 12.6km, 775m of height gain, some stony paths, some grassy slopes.
